'Experiments' - Zeald Split Testing

Written by Evan Cooper on July 12th, 2011.      0 comments

Zeald has been working hard over the last few months to provide Zeald clients with the new and easy to use split testing tool called 'Experiments'. Split testing is the single most effective way of improving the performance of your website, and now with the introduction of 'Experiments', Zeald websites have yet another powerful tool to help with the continual improvement of your website.

Here are some reasons why we think you should be excited:

  1. Zeald Split Testing software is free!* Good quality 3rd party software was both expensive and hard to use. Free alternatives have less functionality and all but require coding experience to run successfully.

  2. Split testing with Zeald is easy to use and fully supported. It is fully integrated with your current website* and fits in with all the reports you’re already using. In the past Split testing has been extremely hard to setup and difficult to run. Software like Google Optimizer required placing code on every page of your website that had to be done by an IT specialist for every test.

  3. Zeald 'Experiments' reporting is easy to understand and recognise conclusive split test results so that you have clear information needed for making improvements to the page you are testing.

*NOTE: This tool is not available for e-profile websites. If you would like to upgrade please see the options available.

The setup page

We want to make it quick and easy to create an experiment. For every experiment it is important that you are able to select the goals that you are hoping to improve with the new page that you are testing. When you choose a page to optimise, you need to specify the relevant goal you are wanting to improve - Zealds new split testing 'Experiments' allows you to do this.

Split testing reports

The reports are a very important part of the split testing process, they need to make it easy for you to accurately determine which page is the conclusive winner. As with any type of polling, it's necessary to know just how precise the results of the statistics are. Zealds new split testing 'experiments' will automate this calculation and make it easy for you to understand.

Watch this space...

Over the coming weeks we're going to be showing you how to setup and run a split test and what you need to know about the optomisation of your landing pages. We will also introduce some real life split tests that have been conducted using 'Experiments', showing you how easy and effective is to improve the performance of your website.
